Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
He can change his appearance! Normally though, he wears a Glamour that’s 6’1” and fairly thin. He’s got a lot of tough, stringy muscle, like a gymnast, and he’s wide through the hips. Outside the Glamour, he’s 6’3” or so, still wiry, but even broader through the hips and uh... generous in the chest I’ll say.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
He slouches a little. Just enough to look kinda loose and easy. He’s only ever as tense as he has to be. He tends to keep one hand in his pocket and one hand free so he can smoke when he’s idle

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
He’s incredibly healthy! He’s only ever been sick twice in his life actually, once when he was really young and had first settled into being a salamander because his body had to finish adjusting, and once when his eye got infected and he was basically out for a month trying to fight it off.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Fluid I guess. Graceful isn’t quite the right word but there is a definite... smoothness to everything he does. He’s a fairy so he’s kind of naturally gifted with a really clear, pretty physicality. He’s nice to watch even when he’s doing really mundane things. Also since he’s a little on the lazy side, he never moves any more then he has to so he’s also really efficient

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
It varies as mentioned. But his usual Glamour is really really pretty. Like he’s a genuinely really attractive person somewhere on the androgynous to feminine side of things, good strong jaw, bright eye, straight nose, beauty mark. And he’s definitely aware of this and uses it to his advantage on occasion. He’s... not vain exactly but he’s really conscious of his appearance. Not so much that it’d like... ruin his day if someone called him ugly. He’d just think they’re kinda dumb sldkfj He’d be a lot more meticulous about it if he didn’t travel so much.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Variable as always. Usually though, his skin is sorta medium brown, smooth, fairly clear. I think he’s got a couple little scars here and there from where he fell as a kid or got scuffed up in a fight. They’re not very noticeable though. Obviously this is a little different under his eyepatch where he’s basically just got a mess of scar tissue but most people won’t see that.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
He can change it!!! But usually, dark dark dark brown, basically black, tightly curled and relatively thick. He wears it in dreads, letting them grow out to about his shoulders which is about as long as they’ll ever get. Mostly he ties them up cause they’re easier to deal with like that

9. What color are his eyes?
He’s only got one! Like I said, the one under the eyepatch is just a mess of scars over the lid which is always closed. Outside his Glamour, the other eye looks like this. In his usual one, it’s a kinda tealish blue. He’s knows that’s kind of obnoxious and eye catching and he probably shouldn’t do it but... he wants to so there lskdf

Outside his Glamour! He’s got digitigrade feet, a long lizard tail and patches of scales. His mouth also parts further up his cheeks and his fingers bend backwards. I think that’s it though!

He doesn’t really... get tense slkdjflkj But when he does, shoulders probably. Shoulders and jaw.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
He’s practical as hell and that shows especially in the way he dresses so there’s not a lot of variation and it’s all extraordinarily tough and well made. That said, he sneaks in little bits of style when he can, like one of his favorite shirts has a high collar with a bit of embroidery. Mostly though, it’s all utilitarian and plain like I said.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Pretty well! He can’t afford a tailor or anything like that so sometimes his clothes fit a little awkwardly through his hips, but for the most part he doesn’t have too many problems. And yes, he’s super comfortable in them! He’d have to be since he pretty much lives in them fffff

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
ffff he only has like three sets of clothes and one coat so yeah he definitely dresses the same everywhere all the time

1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
His voice is naturally a mid alto. In his Glamour, it’s a mid tenor. In both, it’s got chain smoking huskiness to it that makes it sound lower then it is.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
He draaaawls wow and it’s all pretty even. He tends not to raise his voice even for questions or anything. And yeah, he talks pretty easily! I mean he tends not to, just cause he’d rather say something in the fewest words possible but yes...

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Yes! He has an English accent, except this is alternate universe England so it actually isn’t identifiable by anyone from our world. The closest comparison is sort of Northern English but it’s also mixed with something vaguely Hindi, maybe a little Arabic. It’s a weird result of time and cultures mixing a whole bunch really quickly

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
He grew up speaking English. He’s also fluent in German and French, he can get by in Spanish and Arabic, and knows a little bit of Welsh and Gaelic. One of his grandparents was Old Fae who learn languages on contact with them, so he’s inherited a pretty notable talent for them. The globalized nature of the world around him also helps.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Obviously he’ll switch languages to communicate. But he can also imitate accents from various parts of the country and he’ll change it up to make himself more relatable to his clients, particularly when he’s in Scotland

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
Pretty decent. Probably the longer he has to talk, the more he has to think about it first? But in general, he keeps it short and sweet like I said so it’s not an issue

He can be eloquent?? It doesn’t come naturally to him so he has to work at it first. He’s too casual to manage it in regular conversation but idk like if he’s paid to go to a fancy party with someone, he’ll do his best

Pretty intelligent. He’s definitely more street-smart then book-smart, but he’s got at least a little bit of both. He’s not very good at book learning though so figuring things out by doing them is way better for him. Plus he’s done some shady stuff and it takes street-smarts to navigate that well.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Thinks on his feet, yeah. But he prefers time to deliberate for big decisions? Like if it’s life or death or even just a bit of trouble, he can protect himself no problem, but he hates pressure to take a job or something. If his potential client is pushing him to make a quick decision, he’ll usually just say no

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Intuitive but practical. He does what’s best for him regardless of whether it’s maybe the most logical thing in the world. He works for himself first and other people second, whatever that ends up meaning

His mom hired private teachers, basically governesses for him, whenever they stayed in a city for a long time. While they were traveling she taught him herself. Once he turned eighteen, he entered the military so his education in the school sense stopped there, but he never really stopped learning? He finds out whatever information he needs as he needs it so... yes

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Guns. Fighting to some extent. Sneaking. He can be charismatic if he needs to be but he’s not always the best at it in everyday conversation. He knows more about fairies then most humans... so there’s that

Definitely an introvert. In general, he’s not a fan of large groups of people and he can get overstimulated and start pulling away from people really easily. He travels alone for a reason :x

Even-tempered as heeeeeell and super laid-back. It is almost impossible to genuinely piss him off. He tends to be more happy then sad, but even his smiling is fairly muted. He keeps it level. Big emotions are not his favorite thing at all thank you

Acts relaxed but is usually at least a little suspicious. I mean he deals with shitty people in his job sometimes and he’s fairly guarded about his own emotions, but he doesn’t like letting people know that 8'| So yes, the most relaxed in practice

React probably? He won’t bug you if you don’t bug him is pretty much his favorite philosophy ever

Flight! He hates fighting unless he’s got a damn good reason, so he’ll just... leave... if it looks like anything’s gonna happen that he doesn’t want to participate in fff

He’s super dry laksdjf and tends to be sarcastic more then making obvious jokes. Otherwise, he’ll usually laugh pretty easily unless the joke is completely abhorrent or something

Probably not? I guess he’s got issues dealing with grief but I’m not sure if there’s anything diagnosable there. Also he was a soldier and while he doesn’t have ptsd anymore, there are certain situations that make him tense or uneasy still.

Growing up during wartime. Becoming a soldier. Being blinded. Traveling with his mother. Losing his mother. Meeting and connecting with Cernunnos. Beginning to accept shadier clients... That’s probably all :x

Getting close to anyone and losing them again. Becoming settled or trapped in one place. Water to some extent. Dying, I suppose

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
Surviving :x That’s the big one tbh there is often very little else on his mind goalwise besides staying alive as long as possible. But he also travels constantly and loves it so I guess... being able to continue that.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
He’s pretty iffy on the idea of humans finding out he’s a fairy or fairies finding out he lives as a human. He kinda just wants to be and let all the contentions between both sides pass by him



Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
He never knew his dad and has sort of mixed feelings on that. On the one hand, he would’ve liked to have known him, but on the other, he hasn’t suffered for it or anything and his mother pretty explicitly told him that she didn’t love the guy so. I guess it’s not really that important to him. HIS MOM THOUGH. He adored his mom. She was a pretty freakin cool person anyway, but she was also fantastic at parenting. She traveled with him and treated him like a person even when he was a kid. They eventually were traveling companions, he was her body guard a little bit. Basically they were best friends. She’s really the only person he ever honestly trusted with his feelings, so when she died... it fucked him up really bad. Like he’s awkward and closed off anyway but after her death, he was basically unable to deal with his grief and has pushed people away ever since. So yeah. She’s really... probably the most important person in his life even though she’s dead );

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Yes! He’s got a handful of half siblings on both sides. He was his father’s second kid and there have been two more over the past couple hundred years. He hasn’t met any of them and probably doesn’t even know they exist. His mother has had a dozen or so kids over the course of her life. All but one of them are dead in the modern day, but he was actually able to meet one other before the guy died. He was really old and Foster was awkward and uncomfortable about that whole encounter. The one that’s still alive is the mayor of a town he’s been to and they met when Foster was a teenager and got along alright. Then Foster did some work on her town and they were... friends? by the time he left again, but they didn’t stay in touch. Then they met once more during their mother’s funeral and haven’t talked much since. Sufficed to say, he’s not close with any of his siblings at all.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Nope! I mean he’s met a lot of his family. His mom was very much into keeping in touch with all her kids and all their families for a few generations at least. So he’s met lots of nieces and nephews and all that. Most of it was in passing though. His mom made an effort to introduce him and show him around but he... was bad at keeping in touch. He occasionally calls on a few of them for favors when he has nowhere to stay for whatever reason, but for the most part he’s fairly distant from them.

Also, all the Old Fae are his great-auncles and he has... a weird relationship with all of them. His relationship with fairies in general is weird, but especially with them cause they recognize him by his relationship to his Fae grandparent who he’s never met. They’re often too familiar with him and it makes him uncomfortable more then anything. He likes Cernunnos a little but they don’t see each other hardly ever... and that’s about it as far as that goes.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Nope! Once again, he doesn’t really let himself get close to people :x Certainly not enough to consider them family anyway

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
His mom............................. lakjsdfklj he’s a giant mama’s boy basically. He travels near constantly these days so he doesn’t really have an opportunity to have best friends baww

Non, see above

N... either??? He can usually get along well enough. I mean he can be a little abrasive and his refusal to connect gets obvious the longer you spend with him, but he does okay short term.

Family by far. Like it’s not even a question wow. Even some of the family he doesn’t know all that well, he’d keep an eye on over people not related to him lsdkjfk

Uhhhh... first was probably some older lady who worked with his mom or something. He doesn’t really get crushes these days though...?

Possibly? I mean he’s certainly had a lot of sex, not all of it protected... He does a pretty decent job at contraception though so if he has accidentally fathered children, it’d only be one or two... And obviously he wouldn’t know about them sldkjfklsjdf whoops

Not really... I mean he’s a mercenary and the things he does are not always legal so I guess the police? Plus anyone who might be mad about some of the things he’s done. He doesn’t have like... personal enemies or anything like that though

Three! He’s completely pansexual though he has a preference for femme people, regardless of gender. This is not to say he won’t fuck nonfemme people, he’s definitely got no problem with that either lskdjflj but if he gets a choice, he'll go with them

He likes it! Definitely a fan. He’s slept around a lot and definitely has plans to continue doing it, though if he ever had to stop doing it with other people, he already jerks off pretty much daily so I guess he wouldn’t hurt too badly...????

He’s a fan of consent 83 Like it’s kind of a kink for him for someone to be really really into fucking him. He likes eating people out best, also the way they breathe during the whole process is something he pays really close attention to. And he’s hella turned off by people who only purchase sex from him just as a show of power, as if he couldn’t refuse them if he didn’t want to do it. Aaaaand weird bedroom habits, he tends to put his mouth all over his partner... oral fixation :x

Neither at all wow. He is not fond of religion at all and actually hasn’t been to a day of church in his entire life. He’s spiritual only in the sense that he knows there’s a God... but so does everyone in his world so that’s not actually that extraordinary

Stay alive... That’s really it. He actually has anti-morals I guess cause he’ll do... really awful things if it means he survives another day, particularly if he’s getting paid to do them ldkfjlj

He’s tolerant up until the point where they start threatening him. He legit doesn’t care unless you’re gonna try to hurt him with whatever it is that you believe

I can’t think of any?? I think he does pretty good prejudice-wise... I mean I guess he falls into the same weird racism that his world has where, if you don’t come from his country, he can get a little patronizing... But that’s pretty minor and has been more or less extinguished after working with a lot of international clients :x

Depends! If it’s right after he’s been paid, then he’s usually pretty comfortable. The further out between jobs he is, the poorer he is

Not very good... I mean he’s basically a hobo so he gets a lot of minus points for that. And the fact that he’s almost always a stranger wherever he is. Basically his only positive is that he’s fairly well trusted by the military for being a consistently efficient mercenary for them. He used to be the traveling bodyguard slash son of a really important political figure so................ yes, he’s definitely fallen in the world FFFFF

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
Nowhere! He travels constantly and only stays in one place long enough to rest up and maybe get some work if he happens to be looking

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
No... thing...???? Books, I guess actually. Books and train tickets and knives. He tends to be super conservative with his money so he’ll rarely spend it on anything that isn’t necessary :x

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
Whatever he can................... alskdjflkj no really, he’ll mow lawns if he feels like he’s being offered a good price for it. He doesn’t care as long as he’s getting something out of it. Generally though, he’ll look for things he’s good at yes, and he actually identifies himself as a mercenary. Almost all of his mercenary work is for the English government, but he has occasionally done stuff for Scotland or Wales... or some uh... shadier businesses. This is what he really excels at actually. He is a really really good sniper and his skills are put to great use most of the time. It’s definitely something he enjoys. The flexibility of just doing whatever anyone will pay him for feels really adventurous and fun to him so 83

He loves people? So he watches them a lot lksjdf like if he’s laid over in a city for a little while, he’ll go find some market square and just sit and watch people. Sometimes watching will turn to interacting with and helping which may eventually turn into a job... or sex... he doesn’t mind really. Other then that, most of his time is actually spent just traveling from one place to another, setting up camp, sleeping, traveling again... u kno

He actually doesn’t need to eat very often! So he tends to skip meals by accident, especially when he’s on the road and doesn’t have a human around to remind him that food exists lsdkfj He tends not to drink much and when he does drink, it’s almost always some kind of alcohol pff THAT SAID, he actually loves food so usually right after he gets paid, he'll go splurge on some big expensive dinner at a fancy restaurant or whatever
